About this calculator
Tiles are bought by the box and dye lots change between batches, so running short halfway through a room is a real problem. Add the wastage allowance and buy it all at once.
What it assumes
- Assumes a straight (stack or brick) layout. Diagonal and herringbone need more wastage.
- Adhesive and grout figures are typical allowances, not manufacturer data.
- Buy the whole quantity in one batch so the shade matches.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ten percent covers a straightforward room. Go to fifteen for diagonal layouts, small rooms with many cuts, or large-format tiles where an offcut is rarely reusable.
